Le Perisian Indulgence

There simply is no city unlike Paris.  Now it clearly makes sense after all those films, of why this city is put on an altar, and I can only think of one film that does this city any justice, The Devil Wears Prada, or the realistic version of this film, The September Issue.  From the Eiffel Tower lighting up, to the highly coveted couture fashion shows, (where your most likely find Anna Winttour sitting front row with her mink fur coat along with her creative team), and the high fashion avenues scattered all around this magnificent fashion paradise, no one is bound to be disappointed.  Every day seems to be an adventure down every street and every metro ride, and not to mention there is no such thing as being "legal."   Nightclubs, pubs, and even liquor stores certainly won't have a problem serving you one (or a few) after the sun goes down.

Le Queen is a Paris must. Located steps away from Champs Élysées shopping district, you will find yourself emerged into a Perisian party along with every other French resident and tourist party animal lined up to get in. Dress code is much enforced and those bouncers have no problem saying "it's too full," as they let the group behind you enter. Every cent of those twenty euros is definitely worth it, plus you get a free drink with your cover, so after all, it works out both ways.  The party landscape is very sophisticated and quiet the definition of "upscale" of the Perisian nightclub scenery. The outskirts of the dance floor are surrounded by mirrors and exotic red velvet sofas, with each an individual table, and with all that eye candy, the view is certainly worth mentioning.
The accessibility to everything and anything is also at the tip of your fingertips. With every tourist attraction and world renowned venues, it also just a metro ride away (except after 12:45 a.m.). Extremely ridiculous for such a city, but at least the bus system works all night.  Depending the length of your stay, it is certainly more convenient to purchase a week/month pass, since you can use it at both the metro and the bus but you definitely want to get some what acquainted with the metro lines.  Whether you only know a few words of French or none at all, you won't have any problems getting around, but don't be surprised when you do order something from a restaurant menu and the waiter brings to your table something you didn't even imagine, so the key is simply to always ASK!
No doubt that once you have set foot into this city you will not want to leave.  There is simply something new  to see and visit everyday.  Whether you want to take some exquisite photographs at the lavish gardens, or simply emerge yourself for an entire day of French culture and history at the Louvre Museum, every sight is surely worth it.  From the white-pebbled pathways, to the Roman-inspired statues and the gold-accent fountains, every head turn is exquisite.

Brussels-Bound Thalys

Brussels isn't much a of city you hear many people talking about unlike Paris, New York, LA, etc. But it's certainly one of those places that's worth checking out even if it's for just a day.  At least that's what I decided to do.  Accompanying my colleague Lea Workman on our journey to collect a jacket from a mysterious young lady who we met at the train station.  After all Lea was going to Brussels regardless, so I didn't mind tagging along and adding the city to my long list of "world cities tour." After exactly €160 and a few cups of coffee, along with miss Workman, we found ourselves waiting on the Thalys train, Brussels-bound. The best deal about buying the train ticket the same day as the departure was I ended up paying less for a 1st class seat on returning train seat to Paris..... Now talk about a deal.

The Belgian city is rich is history and it is immediately visible. From the ministry of justice, to the aging cathedrals this historical city will emerge you nonetheless.  Chocolate is a must, after all you are in the chocolate capital of the world (feel free to argue).  Although like many European cities, many of the streets aren't paved so I would advise you to leave the 6inch stiletto at the hotel, unless you really want to try and find a replacement while your there.  Regardless of replacement or no replacement, you must visit the Brussels flea market, located in the center of the city. There you will find inexpensive fur coats, tailored jackets and many vintage dresses and skirts, as well as beautiful hand painted vases and china, with other magnificent pieces of art along the stroll. The best part about this "flea market," is the possibility of being able to bargain. You don't necessarily have to be an expert at this but some bargain skills could be beneficial.  From there you can certainly walk in any other direction as you may please to enjoy the rest of the city.

Barrera Autumn/Winter Collection- Colorado Fashion Week

Barrera Autumn/Winter Collection

Barrera will be showcasing the Autumn/Winter Collection during Colorado Fashion Week at the Denver Center for Performing Arts located Downtown Denver. The Barrera Collection featured during this event will be collective and intimate but quite promising. From luxurious couture gowns to very exotic ready-to-wear collection pieces. Barrera is due to present on Saturday, October 1st, 2011 followed by a market, on October 2nd, where all collection pieces from all featured designers will be available for purchase.

Every night will highlight established and emerging Colorado local designers so this will be an event you will not want to miss. So get those Louboutin pumps, that sequin dress you've been wanting to stunt and those dazzling jewels people won't resist to turn their heads back and forth to look at. For you gentleman, let's pull that peak lapel tuxedo which has been serving no justice in the closet collecting dust and shine up those patent leather shoes until they are squeaky clean. Whether you make it a girls night out or you bring the hottest date to the runway show, this night will certainly put those other so called night club "fashion shows" to shame! Now just because you won't be on the runway doesn't mean the cameras won't be watching. Those lenses will be shooting left and right and no one wants to get caught up in a magazine with bad taste.

For more information please check out this YouTube link regarding info for designers and general public. Let's make this a very successful event a night an a night the fashion scene in Denver will never forget.
